No More Hague Apostile – New Regulation on Public Documents for EU Countries

The Regulation on Public Documents was published in July 2016 and it applies to all EU countries, however there are some articles that have been blocked until 16 February of 2019.

These articles are:

1. That the legalisation or apostille is not needed any more.
2. The translation of documents are longer needed any more.

The public documents that these regulation cover are the following:

1. Criminal
2. Birth
3. Death
4. Marriage
5. Divorce / Legal separation
6. Adoption
7. Parenthood
8. Nationality
9. Name
10. Notarial acts
11. Administrative documents

Apostille and translation no more needed.

The Regulation introduces optional multilingual standard forms in 11 areas in order to avoid translation requirements.
